Pre & Post Treatment Care for Vascular & Pigmentation Treatment

Vascular & Pigmentation Treatment

Pre:

Please shave treatment area prior to coming to clinic. Have area cleansed and free of makeup and lotions etc.

For at least 4 (four) weeks prior to treatment, you need to avoid sun exposure, tanning beds and self-tanning (sunless) lotions/sprays. If you are obviously tanned, you may not be treated.

Post:

Avoid Sun Exposure

Sun protection: Avoid direct sun exposure on the treated areas for at least 2 weeks. If exposure is unavoidable, apply a high-SPF sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) to the treated area to prevent pigmentation changes.
Avoid tanning: Tanning beds or prolonged sun exposure can worsen the appearance of pigmentation or lead to skin irritation.

Exercise and Activity

Avoid strenuous exercise: For the first 24–48 hours, refrain from heavy exercise, such as running or weight lifting. However, light walking is encouraged to promote circulation.
Avoid hot environments: Steaming, hot tubs, or saunas should be avoided for at least 48 hours after treatment, as heat can cause swelling or irritation in the treated area.

Post-Treatment Swelling and Bruising

Mild swelling and bruising: It is normal to experience some swelling, redness, or bruising after the treatment. These side effects typically resolve on their own within 1–2 weeks.
Cold compress: Applying a sanitary cold compress (not directly on the skin) can help minimize swelling and discomfort.

Hydration and Skin Care

Stay hydrated: Drinking plenty of water helps keep the skin hydrated and promotes healing.
Moisturize the treated area: Use a gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer if your skin feels dry or irritated after treatment.
Avoid scrubbing: Do not rub, scrub, or massage the treated area excessively, as this can irritate the skin.

Avoid Smoking and Alcohol

Limit alcohol and smoking: Alcohol can cause blood vessels to dilate, and smoking can slow the healing process. It is best to avoid both for a few days post-treatment
